Near the Great Ganges - My visits to various ghats in Kolkata.
'The Ganges, above all is the river of India, which has held India's heart captive and drawn uncounted millions to her banks since the dawn of history. The story of the Ganges, from her source to the sea, from old times to new, is the story of India's civilization and culture, of the rise and fall of empires, of great and proud cities, of adventures of man…'
Atleast you can have the most photogenic adventures near the Ganges.
(PS: All the photos I'm posting now have been taken by me a while back. After I upload my current stock of photos, I'll update this blog daily with new photos.)

The annual making of Gods and Goddesses - Kumortuli trip.
Never been to Kumortuli before this. Always had a curiosity about the place. This place perfectly reflects the traditional Bengali culture.
For all those who don't know about all this, here is a quick insight: Durga puja is an annual Hindu festival in South Asia that celebrates idol worship of the Hindu goddess Durga. The idols are made in Kumaruli. (Source: Wikipedia. Check it out for more info)

An evening in New Town
A sunday evening with no plans. So just grabbed my camera and went to New Town for a serious outdoor nature shoot. Pretty happy with what I saw and captured.
And the journey begins...
I basically made a Photoblog for sharing pictures and also maintaining a presentable site to keep all my photos together in an organized manner. I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. Its good enough for me. I'll buy a DSLR as soon as I can. I am from the City of Joy - Kolkata in West Bengal, India.
